At Crossroads Family Dental, we understand that visiting the dentist can bring fear or anxiety for some patients—whether it’s your first appointment, a return after some time away, or simply nerves that never fully disappear. That’s why we’re proud to introduce a very special member of our team: Rocky, our beloved office “Dogtor.”
Rocky is a hypoallergenic Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel- Poodle) with soft, non-shedding black fur and a calm, friendly personality that makes him a natural comfort companion. His presence alone often brings a smile to our patients’ faces the moment they walk through the door. For many, that first interaction with Rocky helps ease nerves before the appointment even begins.
Rocky plays an important role at our dental office, but his responsibilities are thoughtfully structured to respect every patient’s comfort level. He typically stays behind the front desk and does not roam throughout the dental practice. This ensures that patients who may prefer a pet-free environment always feel comfortable and respected. For those who enjoy dogs, Rocky is happy to offer a gentle greeting, a tail wag, and accept a few calming pets if needed.
Dental anxiety is more common than many people realize, and we believe that small touches can make a big difference. Rocky’s calm demeanor helps create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere—especially for children and adults who may feel uneasy about dental visits. A quick hello or a few moments of interaction with Rocky can help shift focus, lower stress, and set a positive tone for the appointment ahead.
Rocky’s non-shedding coat makes him an excellent fit for a professional healthcare environment, and he is carefully maintained to ensure cleanliness and comfort for everyone. His time at the office is always supervised, and his role is strictly limited to greeting and comforting—never interfering with care or treatment.
At Crossroads Family Dental, our goal is to treat patients like family, and Rocky embodies that philosophy perfectly. From the caring faces at the front desk to the gentle presence of our four-legged Dogtor, every detail of our practice is designed with your comfort in mind.
Whether you’re a lifelong dog lover or simply appreciate a warm, welcoming environment, Rocky is here to help make your dental experience a little brighter—and a lot more comforting.
